The lobby lights were especially harsh and bright, so there was no way I could miss seeing him. I was worried the door guard would be angry with me for taking this picture, until I considered he wasn’t doing anything to intervene in the first place. Please tell me this man isn’t one of those wifi hotspots.

Why did I stop in the middle of the block and take a picture of this sleeping man? Because of the word written above his head. (South Slope, Brooklyn)
I feel like it’s important to take pictures of people like this in NYC since most of the time they are passed-by without being noticed. However, that doesn’t mean I’m not terribly nervous when I know they see me photographing them. It almost feels like they would think I’m exploiting them, when that’s really not my intention. (42nd Street - Bryant Park Station, Manhattan)
